This is a lttle Q&A for those new to Mikeyradio.com!

1.What is Mikeyradio.com?

Mikeyradio.com (MY-KEY Radio) is a live streaming internet broadcast. Anytime you connect to Mikeyradio.com what you are hearing is music being played right at that moment in time from the Mikeyradio.com studios in Detroit, Michigan USA. This stream of live music is broadcast worldwide 24-7 for your listening enjoyment. Connect to Mikeyradio.com anytime you are on the web chatting or attending to other online business. Play mikeyradio.com in the background while you work or play and enjoy the best music available on the internet.

2.What do I need to listen to Mikeyradio.com?

To listen to Mikey Radio, you need a computer (obviously) with a soundcard and speakers. You'll need the latest version of RealOne Player. With the RealOne Player you'll have access to hundreds of hours of Mikey Radio. The latest RealOne Player can be downloaded free from Real.com

Once RealOne is installed (just follow the directions for installation) all you need to do is click on the "tune in" link (located at the top and bottom of this page). After a few seconds the music should start to play automatically.

If you cannot hear the music (after installing RealPlayer) make sure the volume on your speakers and "mixer" are turned up. To do this click the "speaker" icon located in your "sys tray" generally found in the bottom right hand side of your screen on the taskbar. If you cannot find the "speaker" icon there click "Start> Programs> Accessories> Entertainment> Volume Contol" to access the "mixer" and make sure that the "Wave" and "Volume" sliders are turned up and that neither slider is "Muted".

You can also listen to Mikey Radio outside of the mikeyradio.com website. Just type http://stream.mikeyradio.com:8000/listen.pls in the address bar of your internet browser, and the you'll hear the smooth sounds of DJ Mikey Mike from your MP3 player. You can also do this by clicking "listen" located at the top of every page.

3.Why can't I hear Mikeyradio on my regular radio?

Mikeyradio.com is broadcast only on the internet and is not available on your radio. If Mikeyradio.com was broadcast via radiowaves then only those in the area of the broadcast (mikeyradio.com is broadcast out of Detroit, Michigan USA) would be able to hear it. By broadcasting on the internet anyone with an internet connection anywhere in the world can hear Mikeyradio.com!

4.Is Mikeyradio.com on all the time?

Yes, Mikeyradio.com is on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Mikeyradio.com is on all the time. We never take a break, we deliver you the best music anytime you want to hear it!

5.When can I hear DJ MIKEY MIKE's live show?

DJ MIKEY (MY-KEY) MIKE is on live every Sunday from 11am-2pm EST hosting his show where you can make musical requests and interact with him. You can also find DJ MIKEY (MY-KEY) MIKE hanging in the 30, 40 & 50 something's Chatrooms at www.ebonyvoices.com. Membership to ebonyvoices.com is free and you don't even have to be black! (LOL)

6.Can I make a musical request to DJ MIKEY MIKE?

Yes! You can make your musical requests to DJ MIKEY MIKE anytime by clicking the following link: contact DJ MIKEY MIKE

7.Why do I hear silent breaks in the music sometimes?

The continunity of the stream of music coming to your PC is extremely dependant on the integrity of your internet connection. Mikeyradio.com works best with PC's on high-speed connections (such as a cable modem or DSL). If you have a dial-up connection you can also hear Mikeyradio.com but occassionally you may hear moments of silence as the streaming media player "buffers" the incoming stream. Also some ISP's (like AOL) cause the streaming media player to buffer frequently as the data goes through many different paths to get to the player. Some ISP's are better than others in this regard with AOL being one of the worst. If you notice an undue amount of buffering and silent periods consider changing your ISP in favor of a more reliable ISP (Earthlink, AT&T worldnet and many other ISP's give clearer more reliable service than AOL).
